DENTON, Texas--- Stan State volleyball standout
Lauren Gonzales was named to the 2026 Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Corinth-Denton VolleyFest All-Tournament Team after a strong all-around performance during the Warriors' four matches in Texas.
Gonzales finished the tournament with 46 kills and 55 digs over 19 sets, averaging 2.42 kills, 2.89 digs and 2.55 points per set. She also recorded three block assists and one service ace while totaling 48.5 points.
The Warrior recorded three double-doubles in four matches during the tournament. She opened the weekend with a career-high 13 kills and 14 digs in a five-set match against Westminster (Utah). Later that day, Gonzales recorded 12 kills and a career-high 21 digs against Southern Arkansas.
Gonzales matched her career high with 13 kills while adding 12 digs in Stan State's five-set victory over Southern Nazarene on Saturday, finishing the match with a .205 hitting percentage. She closed the tournament with eight kills, eight digs, one ace and a block assist against Texas Woman's.
Through the first seven matches of the season, Gonzales leads the Warriors with 69 kills and 76.5 points while averaging 2.30 kills per set. She also ranks second on the team with 85 digs and is averaging 2.83 digs per set.
Joining Gonzales on the 2026 Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Corinth-Denton VolleyFest All-Tournament Team were Southern Nazarene's Emma Grace Moddelmog, Central Oklahoma's Kate Wells, UT Dallas' Scarcette Young, Southern Arkansas' Peighton Killeen, Westminster's Claire Cook and Texas Woman's Alyssa Rojo.
Stan State is 3-4 through its first seven matches of the season, including a 3-3 record in neutral-site matches.
The Warriors return to the court on Thursday, Sept. 10, when the Warriors begin CCAA play at Cal Poly Humboldt at 5 p.m. They will travel to Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. before facing Chico State in Chico on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m.
They will return to Turlock on Thursday, Sept. 24, for their home opener against San Francisco State at 5 p.m. as part of a CCAA Pod Weekend. San Francisco State will face Cal State East Bay on Friday, Sept. 25, at 5 p.m. before Stan State concludes the weekend against Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m.
