TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State begins CCAA play this week with a pair of road matches that will take the Warriors from Northern California to Southern California. Stan State opens conference play Thursday, Sept. 10, at Cal Poly Humboldt at 5 p.m. in Arcata before heading south to face Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. in Carson.

Flowers Moves into Third in Career Victories
Lauren Flowers enters CCAA play with a 66-53 (.555) record in her fifth season at the helm of the Stan State volleyball program. The Warriors' five-set victory over previously undefeated Southern Nazarene gave Flowers her 66th career victory, moving her into sole possession of third place on Stan State's all-time coaching wins list. Flowers trails only Christina Lore (82) and Cindy Nikkel (78), while her .555 career winning percentage remains the highest of any head coach in program history.

During Flowers' tenure, Warriors have earned 16 All-CCAA honors, including 2024 CCAA Libero of the Year Gabby Rawson and 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year Malia Tanksley. Rawson also earned AVCA All-America honors in 2024 along with First Team D2CCA All-West Region and AVCA All-West Region honors. Ellison Weaver was named the 2024 CCAA Tournament MVP and became the program's first AVCA National Player of the Week.

Flowers has guided the Warriors to three CCAA Tournament appearances in four seasons, highlighted by the program's first CCAA Tournament championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024. Her tenure also includes a program-record-tying 19-win season in 2022 and a program-best 22 victories in 2024.

Warriors Update
Through seven matches, Stan State is hitting .205 while averaging 11.80 kills, 10.77 assists, 14.47 digs and 1.70 blocks per set. The Warriors have recorded 354 kills compared to 352 by their opponents and hold a 434-422 advantage in digs.

Lauren Gonzales has a team-high 69 kills and is averaging 2.30 per set while adding 85 digs. Emily Meyer also averages 2.30 kills per set with 62 kills, while Lauren Hamilton has 53 kills and leads Stan State with a .355 hitting percentage. Maggie Olson is hitting .265 with 38 kills, and Fallon Freeman has 33 kills while hitting .253.
Reagan Wilkerson leads Stan State with 193 assists, averaging 6.43 per set, and has added 65 digs and a team-high eight service aces. Ireland Avalos has recorded 77 assists and 43 digs. Leah Mendoza leads the defense with 95 digs, averaging 3.17 per set.

Hamilton has also led the Warriors at the net with 26 total blocks, including six solo blocks and 20 block assists. Freeman has 13 total blocks, while Sydney Hoffman has recorded 10 blocks in 12 sets.

Weekend Recap
The Warriors enter conference play 3-4 overall after going 1-3 last weekend at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Corinth-Denton VolleyFest in Denton, Texas. Stan State's weekend was highlighted by a five-set victory over previously undefeated Southern Nazarene, handing the Crimson Storm its first loss of the season. The Warriors also played five-set matches against Westminster and Southern Arkansas before closing the tournament against host Texas Woman's.

Stan State played 19 sets over four matches, averaging 11.89 kills, 10.68 assists and 15.05 digs per set. Meyer averaged 2.44 kills per set, Gonzales had a team-high 46 kills, and Hamilton hit .295 while recording a team-high 18 blocks.  Wilkerson recorded a double-double in all four matches, totaling 132 assists and 46 digs. She enters CCAA play with four consecutive double-doubles, four this season and six in her career.

Gonzales Named to Denton VolleyFest All-Tournament Team
Gonzales was named to the 2026 Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Corinth-Denton VolleyFest All-Tournament Team after recording 46 kills and 55 digs over 19 sets. She averaged 2.42 kills and 2.89 digs per set while recording three double-doubles.  Gonzales had a career-high 13 kills against Westminster, a career-high 21 digs against Southern Arkansas and matched her career high with 13 kills in Stan State's five-set victory over Southern Nazarene. She enters CCAA play leading the Warriors with 69 kills while ranking second with 85 digs.

Seeing Double
Wilkerson enters CCAA play having recorded four consecutive double-doubles, giving her four this season and six in her career. Her streak began with 30 assists and 13 digs against Westminster before she finished with 21 assists and 11 digs against Southern Arkansas. Wilkerson followed with a career-high 43 assists and 12 digs in the victory over Southern Nazarene and 38 assists and 10 digs against Texas Woman's.

Gonzales recorded three consecutive double-doubles during the Denton VolleyFest. She recorded her first collegiate double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs against Westminster before finishing with 12 kills and a career-high 21 digs against Southern Arkansas. Gonzales completed the streak with 13 kills and 12 digs in the Warriors' victory over Southern Nazarene.

Ireland Avalos recorded her first double-double as a Warrior against Southern Arkansas with 18 assists and 15 digs.

Scouting Cal Poly Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt enters CCAA play with a 3-3 record. The Lumberjacks opened the season with a four-set loss at Colorado School of Mines before defeating Colorado Christian in four sets and UCCS in straight sets. Last weekend, Humboldt fell to Northwest Nazarene in three, defeated Dominican in three and lost a five-set match to Jessup after winning the opening two sets.

The Lumberjacks are hitting .188 while averaging 12.00 kills, 11.18 assists, 16.41 digs, 1.68 blocks and 1.55 service aces per set. Their opponents are hitting .181.
Graysen Trupp leads Humboldt with 67 kills and is averaging 3.05 kills per set while hitting .293. Isabella Hartwig has 49 kills, while Avary Spoja has 44 kills. Claire Crawford leads the Lumberjacks with 129 assists, while Elizabeth Jade Andrade has a team-high 117 digs and eight service aces.

Thursday's match is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Lumberjack Arena in Arcata.

Stan State-Cal Poly Humboldt Series
Stan State leads the all-time series against Cal Poly Humboldt 21-13 and has won the last two meetings. The Warriors are 11-6 all-time in Arcata and have won seven of the last 10 matches overall against the Lumberjacks.
Stan State swept both of the last two meetings, including a 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 victory in Turlock last season. The Warriors hit .337 while holding Humboldt to .071 and finished with a 10-1 advantage in blocks. Stan State also won its most recent trip to Arcata in straight sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-13, in 2024.

Returning Warriors who contributed to last year's victory include Freeman, who finished with six kills, and Irene London, who recorded seven blocks. Victoria Plumb had a team-high three service aces, while Wilkerson had seven assists, Mendoza finished with six digs and Gonzales added five digs.

Scouting Cal State Dominguez Hills
Cal State Dominguez Hills enters the opening week of CCAA play 0-6. Four of the Toros' six losses have come in straight sets, while they took Colorado Christian to five sets in their season opener and Rockhurst to four sets.
The Toros are averaging 8.86 kills, 7.76 assists, 10.14 digs, 1.48 blocks and 2.10 service aces per set while hitting .112. Their opponents are averaging 13.19 kills per set and hitting .279.

Dakota Carvo leads Cal State Dominguez Hills with 36 kills, while Ryann Bennett has 29, Natalia Walden-Schulz has 27 and Rilee Graham has 26. Anna Sanzaro has 22 kills while hitting .333.

Giovannina De Sisto leads the Toros with 59 assists, while Jayla Yoder has 52 and Keilyn Flores has 30. Lainey Johnson leads the team with 55 digs, while Yoder has a team-high eight service aces.  Prior to hosting Stan State Saturday afternoon, the Toros will host Chico State at 5pm this Thursday, Sept. 10.

Saturday's match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Torodome in Carson.

Stan State-Cal State Dominguez Hills Series
Stan State leads the all-time series against Cal State Dominguez Hills 20-11 and has won four consecutive meetings. The Warriors are 10-7 all-time in Carson and have won nine of the last 10 matchups overall.  Stan State swept the 2025 season series. In Turlock on Sept. 18, the Warriors earned a 3-1 victory, 25-19, 25-27, 25-19, 25-18. Stan State held the Toros to a .088 hitting percentage and finished with a 14-4 advantage in blocks. Freeman had eight kills, Meyer added seven, London recorded seven blocks, Wilkerson had 14 assists and two service aces, Plumb added two aces, Gonzales had two aces and Mendoza finished with 15 digs.

The Warriors completed the season sweep with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-15 victory in Carson on Oct. 24. Stan State hit .333 while holding Cal State Dominguez Hills to .078 and finished with a 10-2 advantage in blocks. Meyer had seven kills and three blocks, London and Sydney Hoffman recorded five blocks each, Wilkerson finished with 17 assists, three service aces and eight digs, and Mendoza had a team-high 10 digs.

Following its CCAA-opening weekend, Stan State will have a week between matches before traveling to Chico State on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. in Art Acker Gymnasium.

The Warriors will then return to Turlock for their home opener against San Francisco State on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. in Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena. Levi Flores and Michelle Stucker will be on the call for the home opener against the Gators.

The home matches will be part of a CCAA Pod Weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena. Cal State East Bay will face San Francisco State on Friday, Sept. 25, at 5 p.m. before Stan State concludes the weekend against Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3 p.m.
