CAL STATE STANISLAUS: 2006 – Jose “Mando” Herrera was named CCAA Player of the Week, Oct. 2-8, after leading the Warriors to a 3-0 week. He allowed two goals in 278 minutes and 45 seconds of play for a GAA of 0.65 with eight saves in facing 41 shots and 11 shots on goal ... second team NSCAA All-Region selection ... All-CCAA honorable mention ... leader in career records with 14 shutouts ... holds the career record with 215 saves and a .748 saves percentage ... leader in single season records with 7 shutouts and with a goals against average with 1.13 ... third in single season records with 78 saves.  2005 – Herrera made 16 starts in net ... went 7-8-2 with three shutouts .. allowed just 23 goals with a 1.33 goals against average ... made 78 saves ... recorded shutouts against Cal Baptist (2-0) on Sept. 3, San Francisco State (4-0) on Sept. 15 and  Chico State (1-0) on Oct. 19. 2004 – Made 15 starts and appeared in all 19 matches ... posted four shutouts ... had nine games with five-or-more saves ... logged nearly 1,600 minutes between the pipes ... recorded 76 total saves and 26 goals allowed. 2003 – Redshirted the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time all-league player at Eureka High School … played on the Marin United club team where he was a member of the 2003 U18 State Cup championship squad that won regionals and was second at nationals … graduated in 2003.

PERSONAL: A criminal justice major ... Jose Armando Herrera, son of Jose and Elizabeth Herrera, was born April 19, 1985, in Eureka.
