UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE:  2009 — Cassandra Carlos appeared in 38 games with 37 starts ... second on the team with 37 hits and batted .291 ... had 23 runs, five doubles, three triples, and 14 RBI’s for the season ... was 9-for-13 in stolen bases ... once named UMES Female Athlete of the Week ... recognized scholar-athlete.  2008 — Named team Rookie of the Year ... started in 42 of 43 games played ... Led the team with 30 hits, 12 doubles, and nine stolen bases ... Second on the team in batting average (.300) ... Ranked second on the team with a slugging percentage of .450 and and on-base percentage of .396 ... Tranfered in 2009.

HIGH SCHOOL: Carlos attended and played softball at Diamond Bar High School  ... As a junior she recieved the academic award for her GPA ... named All-League Honorable Mention ... She attended Diamond Ranch High School as a senior, but did not participate in softball ... graduated in 2007.

PERSONAL: Carlos is a criminal justice major with a concentration in legal studies … great grandfather, Manuel Perez, was  a manager of a semi-pro baseball team from the 1940’s to 1979 ... interests include traveling, shopping, and reading ... favorite book is Memoirs of a Geisha, by,  Arthur Golden ... Cassandra Carlos, daughter of David Carlos, Gregory and Irene Nevarez, was born on Sept. 13, 1989, in Whittier.
