CAL STATE STANISLAUS:  2010 – Redshirted season.

JACKSON STATE: Fred Atkins was a regular player at Jackson State during the 2009 season … batted .321, which was sixth best on the team … started in 42 games in outfield … was 44 for 137 and scored 38 runs for the 35-19 Tigers … led team with 21 stolen bases (21 of 23) … had four home runs and drove in 32 runs … JSU was the No. 2 seed in the SWAC conference tournament.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  Atkins participated in baseball in the 2007-08 seasons at College of Marin for coach Steve Berringer…Named first team All Bay Valley and second team All Northern California.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Atkins attended and played baseball at Albany High School in Albany … graduated in 2006.

PERSONAL:  Atkins is majoring in communications with a minor in public relations … Fred Atkins, the son of Fred Atkins and Marsha Snow, was born on Sept. 11, 1988, in Berkeley.
