CAL STATE STANISLAUS: 2011 — Vanessa Del Toro made 43 starts, mainly at first base … Fourth on the team with 32 hits … Was 4-for-4 at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 11 … Went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs at Humboldt State on Feb. 19.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  Del Toro attended Consumes River College for two years, but only played softball for one season … Team finished third in the state for the 2010 season … Received the Hispanic Student Honor Roll Award in 2010 … Transferred in 2010.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Del Toro was a four-time All-League selection at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton … Named First-Team as a junior and senior … Assisted her team in winning three conference championships … Graduated in 2008.

PERSONAL: Del Toro is a communications major and would like to be a sportscaster or talk radio host … Enjoys playing with her daughter, Armani Nevaeh Surrell, in her spare time … Sister, Erica Del Toro, played softball at University of Indiana in the late ‘90s … Cousin, Rocco Romero was a member of the Cornell University Lacrosse team (2006-09) … Vanessa Leah Del Toro, daughter of Eric and Debra Del Toro, was born on Aug. 6, 1990, in Castro Valley.
