CAL STATE STANISLAUS:  In the CSUS record book, Melissa Bishop had the second best single season hitting percentage of .281 (2010). Also had two of the top 10 single season total blocks numbers. Bishop is sixth on the career solo blocks list with 36.

2011 - Played in just 10 matches before season was cut short due to injury...recorded 67 kills with a .267 hitting percentage.

2010 — Bishop was one of three Warriors to start in all 27 matches … She posted a best hitting percentage of .281 … Had 197 kills and 83 total blocks with 20 solo blocks (0.80 blocks per set).

2009 — Bishop started in all 30 matches played by the Warriors ... Recorded 166 kills and led the team with 82 total blocks ... Had a career high of 8 blocks against William Jessup University on Sept. 1 ... CCAA All-Academic recipient. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Bishop was a three-time scholar athlete for Bella Vista High School … Two-time All-league selection … Received League MVP award in 2009 … Named second-team All-Metro in 2009 by the Sacramento Bee … Recorded the most blocks for her high school team in 2008 with 83 and the most kills with 374 … Had 61 service aces for the 2008 season, second highest on her high school team … Graduated in 2009.

PERSONAL: Bishop is majoring in communications ... Favorite professional sports team is the Boston Red Sox ... Melissa Brianne Bishop, daughter of Rick and Diane Bishop, was born on July 25, 1991, in Carmichael.
