About Warrior Athletics
Stanislaus State fields 14 men's and women's athletics teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, having become a member in the Fall of 1998. The University is affiliated nationally with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), Division II.
The Warriors have a winning tradition. During its 14 years of competition at the NCAA Division III level, Stanislaus State won 12 national golf championships, two national baseball championships and had both its men's and women's basketball teams reach the Final Four in the national tournaments.
The Warriors have been very competitive at the national level since moving up to NCAA Division II 1989-90. The 1993 and 1994 women's track seasons conclude with a Stanislaus athlete, Carrie Luis, claiming a double national championship in the 800 and 1500-meter races.
Since 1968 nearly than 250 Warrior athletes have earned All-American honors.
