Stanislaus State Athletics

De La Motte is in his third year on the Stanislaus State baseball coaching staff under head coach Kenny Leonesio. A longtime educator, coach, and former Warrior student-athlete, De La Motte brings decades of experience at both the high school and collegiate levels to the program.

A Turlock native, De La Motte taught at Turlock High School for 38 years and coached baseball for a total of 42 years. During his 26-year tenure as head coach of the Bulldogs, he recorded more than 500 career wins, captured eight Central California Conference championships, and led the program to two section championship appearances, becoming the winningest baseball coach in school history.

At the collegiate level, De La Motte served as the head baseball coach at Stanislaus State from 1996 to 2002. He was also a member of the Warriors’ baseball program from 1971–74, playing first base and outfield. De La Motte was part of the first winning season in Stan State baseball history during the 1974 campaign.
