Hung P. Tsai returned to Cal State Stanislaus in the summer of 2007 as Assistant Athletics Director. Tsai oversees media relations, sports information and marketing. He is responsible for marketing Warrior Athletics, game management and day-to-day responsibilities for the 14-sport athletics program and maintain warriorathletics.com, the department’s website.
Tsai served as the Sports Information Director at CSU Stanislaus from 2001-04 before leaving to launch a website development company and to attend graduate school. From 2006-07, he served as the Assistant Commissioner of the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Previously, Tsai has worked at Humboldt State, San Jose State, and ESPN in a variety of athletics administration and sports media relations positions. He is also actively involved with national committees, advisory boards and CoSIDA to help serve others in the profession.
Tsai received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Humboldt State in 1997 and Master of Arts degree in Sport Management from Long Beach State in 2006. His academic accomplishments include being named a “Student Who Makes a Difference to a Club or Organization” at Humboldt State for his work with the Athletics Department, the Journalism Graduate of the Year in 1997, and a 1996 recipient of the NCAA/Freedom Forum Sports Journalism Scholarship.
Tsai and his wife Stefani, a Ph.D. in Theatre Studies, teaches in the Theatre department at Stanislaus State, reside in Turlock. They have an 16-year old son, Carter; and a 2-year-old daughter Amelia.
