Yee Tran

Duy (Yee) Tran joined the Stanislaus State staff in August 2018 when he was named the Assistant Coach of men’s basketball program under head coach Paul Trevor.

His main responsibilities on the Warrior’s coaching staff will include recruiting, player development, scouting, community engagement and fundraising.
 
A well accomplished coach at the junior college level, Tran spent a total of 15 years at Orange Coast College. With his assistance, OCC finished 22-8 overall and 11-1 in conference play last year. For the first time in 40 years, OCC won the Orange Empire Conference and made it to the Elite Eight for the State Championship.
 
Tran has also coached at Metro State where his five-year stint was highlighted by a 19-12 season in 2007-08.
 
With more than a decade of coaching experience, Tran began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Costa Mesa under head coach Bob Serven.
 
As a student-athlete, Tran took over the starting point guard duties midway through the 2001-02 season at Orange Coast College. He averaged nearly two assists per game in conference play. As a scorer, he notched a career-high 13 points against Riverside City College and after the season, Tran won the “Team Hustle Award” for the Pirates.
 
As a high school standout, Tran won the Jason Ferguson Memorial Scholarship, while attending Costa Mesa High School. In his prep career, Tran was an all-league honorable mention selection as well as the 1999 senior captain for the Mustangs.
 
Tran graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development.
