Jessica Ventoza introduced Aja Scheuber as an assistant coach in July of 2016,
Scheuber, a 2004 Turlock High School graduate, has gained a lot of coaching experiences since she completed her playing career at Fresno State in 2008. Most recently, she was an assistant coach at Cal State Bakersfield from 2011 to 2013.
At Cal State Bakersfield, she assisted in game operations, recruiting, and academics She worked with the outfielders as well as the team's hitting.
Scheuber also served as assistant coach at Colorado State (2011), New Mexico Highlands (2010-11), Taft College (2009-10) and was a volunteer assistant at Fresno State in 2009-10.
Prior to transitioning to coaching, Scheuber played at Merced College before transferring to Fresno State to finish out her collegiate career at the Division I level.
As an utility player, Scheuber helped the Bulldogs earn a Western Athletic Conference championship in 2007. As a senior, she started all 67 games for Fresno State and recorded a .342 batting average with 48 RBIs, 31 runs scored, nine doubles and five homers. Her performance earned her an NCAA West Regional Team selection.
Off the field, Scheuber was selected first team CoSIDA Academic All-American and was also a two-time WAC All-Academic and Fresno State Dean's List selection.
At Merced College, Scheuberr was a two-time all-conference first team selection and won the league's player of the year award in 2006.
Scheuber earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Fresno State in 2009 and added a master's degree in human performance and sport from New Mexico Highlands University in 2011.
