Chelsea Overholt

Chelsea Overholt joined the Cal State Stanislaus staff as assistant volleyball coach on July 1, 2014.

Overholt was an All-Region outside hitter and a two-time Northeast 10 All-Conference star at Adelphi University, where she racked up more than 1,000 kills and 661 digs in her four-year career. Overholt was part of the team that played in four consecutive NCAA tournaments and was on Adelphi’s first NE-10 conference championship team in 2011.

After her stellar collegiate career, Overholt spent a year playing professionally in England while pursuing a master’s degree at Durham University, one of the top business institutions in the World. She will obtain the business management degree this fall once she completes her thesis. While at Durham she coached the University’s women’s B team.
 
Overholt moved out to Turlock in mid-June after spending less than a day back at home in Centreville, Virginia, which is about 30 miles outside of Washington, D.C.

Aside from being a leader on the Adelphi volleyball team, Overholt was a scholar with many academic awards including the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, NE-10 Academic All-Conference Team and was a recipient of the Adelphi Academic Success Scholarship.
 
At Flint High School, Overholt was a three-time All-State player in volleyball and twice made the All-State basketball teams.
 
Overholt graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphia in 2013 as a four-time Dean’s Lister with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also has a minor in human resources and aspires to coach and work as an athletics administrator.
