Brenes made an immediate impact for 14th-ranked Stan State, scoring his first two goals as a Warrior while playing a key role in back-to-back road shutouts over Simon Fraser (3-0) and Saint Martin’s (4-0). In Thursday’s win over the Red Leafs, the Warrior backline held SFU to just 10 shots, including only two on frame, before Brenes broke through late, cashing in on a turnover with less than seven minutes remaining. He struck again on Saturday, finishing a feed from Hugo Canedo in the 59th minute to help seal a dominant 4-0 victory. The defense was just as sharp, limiting the Saints to eight shots (five on goal) as Stan State improved to a perfect 4-0 start.
