LA JOLLA --- In a closely contested match, the Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer team battled UC San Diego to a 1-1 draw Sunday on the campus of UCSD.
Ross Crown scored the goal for the Warriors in the 31st minute to give the team a 1-0 lead. Crown scored off of a rebound shot attempt from
Artemio Arteaga. It was Crown's second score of the year.
The Warriors are now 4-10-4 overall and 3-7-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. UC San Diego is 4-9-3 and 3-6-2 CCAA.
The Tritons even the score 13 minutes into the second half on a Tony Choi score. Choi got a great pass from Brandon Yee and got by CSUS goalkeeper
Mando Herrera for the goal.
The Warriors had 17 shots and eight shots on goal while UCSD was credited with 14 attempts and six on-frame. The teams were called for a total of 49 fouls.
Herrera had five saves for the Warriors.
Cal State Stanislaus will complete its season next Saturday with a 7 p.m. match at Chico State.
