NAMPA, Idaho --- For the second straight weekend, the Warriors had the turnover bugs against the Northwest Nazarene as the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team lost to the Crusaders, 72-61, at the NNU Hampton Inn Classic Friday night.
Shristy Kumar and
Gwendolyn Page each had 13 points. Page grabbed nine rebounds, as did Rebeca Arnt as Stanislaus dropped to 0-3 on the season. The Warriors will face Western Oregon Saturday at 2 p.m. MST. The Wolves (1-2) defeated Humboldt State, 82-80, earlier on the day.
The Warriors had a good second half connecting on 53.8 percent of their shots on 14 of 26 attempts. The Warriors also out-rebounded NNU 45-38 in the game but they could not overcome the turnovers.
Northwest Nazarene was led by Kristin Hein who had 14 points and 13 rebounds. NNU (2-1) plays Humboldt State on Saturday.
Last Friday at the Eva Schicke Classic in Turlock, the Warriors lost to NNU after committed 37 turnovers.
