LA JOLLA -- The No. 4-ranked UC San Diego made it 13 in-a-row against Cal State Stanislaus, as the defending West Region champion Tritons rolled past the Warriors, 77-58, in a CCAA women's basketball game Friday night at the RIMAC Arena.

With the win, UC San Diego won its California Collegiate Athletic Association opener and improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in league. The Warriors are 1-5, 0-2 in the CCAA.

Senior guard Shristy Kumar led Stanislaus with 16 points, including four treys and Gwendolyn Page added 10 points. Amanda Everett added eight points and Katie Busi led the team with 10 rebounds.

UCSD had three players in double figures in scoring led by Meaghan Noud with 14 points. Michelle Osier scored 13 and Alexis Gaskin added 12.

Stanislaus could not recover from a slow start as they made just one of their first 13 field goal attempts before finishing with a 23 percent shooting percentage in the opening half. By the time the intermission came, the Warriors trailed 33-20. UCSD had a 19-4 lead halfway through the opening half.

Gowan pulled the Warriors within 10 early in the second half with a three-pointer to make it 34-24 at 19:08, but the Tritons spent the next six minutes on an 18-7 run -- one of its many mini-surges -- to pull away. UCSD maintained a lead around 20 points the rest of the way. The Tritons' biggest lead was 27, at 70-43, with 6:31 left to play.

After the Warriors swept the season series over UCSD in 2000-01, the Tritons have now won 13 consecutive games against Stanislaus. Last year, UCSD beat the Warriors by 40 points in La Jolla.

Cal State Stanislaus will play a non-conference game against Holy Names on Tuesday in Turlock. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
