ROHNERT PARK --- The Sonoma State Seawolves controlled the ball offensively and out-shot Cal State Stanislaus 22-8 en route to a 3-0 win over the Warriors Friday in a CCAA match.
With the loss, the Warriors dropped to 1-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association while Sonoma State improved to 3-2-1 overall and unbeaten at 2-0-0 in the CCAA.
David Seidel scored SSU's first goal in the 37th minute as the Seawolves never looked back. Ross Middlemiss (78:29) and Eric Lafron (89:40) each added a score for SSU.
Warrior goalkeeper
Mando Herrera saw 22 shots with 11 on frame and picked up seven saves. The Warriors managed to create enough offense with eight corner kicks but was not able to cash in.
The setback is the Warriors fourth in the last five matches as CSUS continues to struggle offensively having scored just two goals against a Division II opponent since beating Notre Dame de Namur 3-0 on Aug. 23.
