CARSON --- In an early season battle of 0-4 CCAA teams, the Cal State Dominguez Hills held home court this time as the Toros defeated Cal State Stanislaus in five thrilling games, 30-26, 30-26, 22-30, 30-32, 15-13, in a CCAA volleyball match Friday night in the Torodome.
The serving game made the difference in the fifth game. After the Warriors rolled off two straight to take the lead at 8-7, a service error gave the ball back to Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Toros would get four of the next five points on service aces to take control.
Nicole Musso would keep the Warriors in the match with two kills to set the score at 14-11 and the Warriors held the Toros on four match points before a double-block on a Karly Van Foeken attack ended the match.
The Warriors dropped to 4-11 overall and 0-5 in the CCAA and Cal State Dominguez Hills earned its second win to go to 2-13, 1-4 CCAA.
Van Foeken led the Warriors with career high 18 kills,
Debbie Vander Schaaf added 13 kills and setter
Colleen Sullivan had a career best 48 assists.

Facing defeat and trailing 28-24 in the fourth game, the Warriors caught a break by getting a point and the serve on a CSUDH attacking error. A 7-1 Stanislaus run would give the Warriors a 30-29 lead. The rally was highlighted by a Van Foeken kill at 28 and Vander Schaaf capped it with a kill at 30. After the Toros tied the score at 30-30, Loghry gave CSUS the lead and a Lauren Wells attacking error would send the match into a decisive fifth game.
Wells finished with 24 kills to lead CSUDH and Sophia Lopes added 20 kills and 23 digs
