TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State volleyball student-athlete Teagan Irish has been named the 2025–26 Outstanding Student Achiever for the Public Health Promotion (B.S.) program, earning the Dean's Award of Excellence after recording the highest grade point average in the program.

The honor is awarded annually to just one student per academic program, recognizing the most exceptional scholar in each discipline. Irish's selection represents the highest level of academic achievement within the Public Health Promotion program and places her among the university's top student honorees.

Irish has excelled in the classroom while balancing the demands of being a student-athlete on the Stan State volleyball team. During her junior season, she earned recognition on the Stan State Fall Athletic Department Honor Roll and the CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll. She was also named to the CCAA All-Academic Team and received D2ADA Academic Achievement honors.

"At Stan State, my coaches played a pivotal role in helping me develop strong time management skills while continually pushing me to excel both on the court and in the classroom," Irish reflected. "My professors were equally understanding and supportive, enabling me to successfully balance a demanding course load. With this foundation of support, I was able to manage my athletic and academic responsibilities while growing both personally and professionally."

On the court, Irish appeared in 15 matches and 51 sets during the 2025 season, recording 70 kills while hitting an efficient .390. She added 103.0 total points, 40 total blocks, 31 digs, and 11 service aces. Irish posted a season-high 17 kills and 22 points against UC Merced on Nov. 6, while also tallying a season-best eight total blocks in that same match.

"I am so proud of Teagan for her accomplishments on and off the court," added Stan State head volleyball coach Lauren Flowers. "She approaches everything she does with an incredible level of diligence and focus. It has been a joy to have her in our program and be her coach and I have no doubt her legacy will continue through our team and into whatever she chooses to accomplish next."

Stan State clinched a spot in the CCAA Volleyball Tournament for the second straight year and third time in the last four seasons.

Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2026 will take place May 26–29 at Stan State.

Her dedication to academic success and commitment to her field of study have distinguished her as a leader among her peers.

The Dean's Award of Excellence celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, and commitment to their academic program. Irish's recognition highlights her hard work and impact within the Public Health Promotion program as she continues her academic and professional journey.
