TURLOCK -- For the third straight game, the Warriors women's basketball team had to play come-front-behind basketball — and for the third consecutive time, they successfully rally in the second half to pull out a victory.

Saturday night, Notre Dame de Namur was the victim as Cal State Stanislaus rallied from down 22 points to beat the Argonauts, 74-66, in the final game of the Stanislaus Thanksgiving Classic at Warrior Arena.

Gwendolyn Page had 20 points and Katie Busi scored 11 points with 14 rebounds to lead the Warriors as they improved to 4-0, the team's best start since Cal State Stanislaus started 6-0 in 2000-01.

Lysandra Williams netted 12 points, with 10 in the second half, with four assists, three blocks and two steals.

"I obviously would much rather not have to comeback, but I am glad it's another win," CSUS head coach Sharon Turner-Dean said. "I think our depth is working to our advantage in the second half...no one on our team had to play more than 26 minutes (today)."

The Warriors trailed by as many as 22 points, at 27-5, with 8:31 to go in the first half after an ice-cold shooting first half. Stanislaus closed the half with a 26.7 percent shooting stat, but was at one point at 11.8 percent in field goal percentage.

Stanislaus used an 8-0 run during a three-minute stretch late in the opening half to cut the NDNU lead to 31-18.

CSUS used a 10-4 run to start the second half to pull within 42-38 with 13:45 to go until Williams' tip-in play at 9:27 gave the Warriors their first lead at 49-48. The game then turned into a see-saw battle without any one leading by more than three. Williams' layup at 1:02 then finally gave Stanislaus five-point advantage.

Antwinette Turner then nailed 3 of her four free throws down the stretch to seal the win. Turner finished with seven points.

Tania Keyes had 18 points, three blocks and five steals to lead Notre Dame de Namur (1-5). Britni Rathke added 15 points and pulled eight boards for NDNU.

Denelle Baker and Dana Andrews had 14 and 13 points, respectively to lead Cal State Monterey Bay over Academy of Art 72-64 in the earlier game.

Cal State Stanislaus will open the California Collegiate Athletic Association season next weekend with road games at San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
