SEASIDE — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team used a prolific -- and balanced -- offensive attack as the Warriors won on the road, 74-67, at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Shristy Kumar led the Warriors with 17 points, Lysandra Williams added 16 and freshman Katie Busi turned in her second double-double of her career with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors beat the Otters for the second time this season and improved to 6-13 overall and 4-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association to keep their hopes of making the inaugural CCAA championship tournament alive. CSUS is just a game behind 8th-place Cal State L.A. as the top 8 teams advance to the conference tournament.

Cal State Monterey Bay dropped to 2-17 overall and 1-12 in the CCAA. The Otters were led by Dana Andrews with 24 points and Britnea Moore added 21.

The Warriors had a nice night shooting to finish 26-for-58 (45 percent) as a team. They shot around 50 percent for most of the contest. Busi was 7-for-10 from the field to go with her defensive stats of a blocked shot and two steals. Kumar was 6-for-11 with two three-pointers on four tries.

After the Otters took a brief lead with 8:03 left to go in the second half, the Warriors rallied back and took control of the game. CSUS regained the lead with 6:13 left after a pair of Williams free throws to make it 61-59. Minutes later, after CSUMB pulled within one point, Stanislaus used an 8-0 run for a 70-61 lead on a Kumar three-pointer.

The Warriors held a 39-36 halftime lead after leading by as many as 13 points, 29-16, with less than six minutes left to play in the opening half.

CSUS travels to take on San Francisco State Saturday night. The Gators lost to No. 14 Chico State, 55-46, Friday.
