SEASIDE -- The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team shot just 30.8 percent and scored 44 points as th Warriors opened the conference season with a road loss at Cal State Monterey Bay.
Michelle Santizo led CSUMB with 11 points as the Otters defeated the Warriors, 58-44, Friday night at the Kelp Bed.
The Otters improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play while the Warriors drop to 1-2, 0-1 in CCAA action.
Katie Busi led the Warriors with another double-double, this time with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Busi, however, was 7 for 20 from the floor.
Nathalie Olveda made a start Friday and scored 12 points.
Andreanna Marshall had seven points and seven rebounds.
Cal State Monterey Bay's bench out-scored the Warrior reserves 27-3. CSUMB led at halftime 29-23.
Cal State Stanislaus will play at San Francisco State (3-4, 0-1 CCAA) which lost to Chico State, 67-46, Friday.
