ROHNERT PARK – Needing a victory in the race for the postseason, the Warriors held Sonoma State without a field goal for 17 minutes in the second half Saturday night, as Cal State Stanislaus defeated the Seawolves 35-31 in California Collegiate Athletic Association women's hoops action.
The Warriors improve to 12-11 overall and 7-9 in the CCAA, putting them in a tie for sixth place in the conference with Cal State San Bernardino. The loss drops the Seawolves to 9-14 overall and 5-11 CCAA, one game out of the eighth and final spot in the CCAA Championship Tournament.

Lysandra Williams had 14 of her 17 points in the second half, including 13 in the final thirteen minutes when Stanislaus pulled ahead for good.
Katie Busi chipped in eight points and lead Stanislaus with 10 rebounds.
Both teams struggled to establish any offensive rhythm in the game, with Cal State Stanislaus shooting 23.9 percent and Sonoma State finishing 17 percent from the field.
The Seawolves took a 14-13 advantage at halftime, and pushed their lead to as many as eight points, 26-18, in the second half on two made free throws by Jennifer Russo with 13 minutes remaining. Sonoma would only score five more points as the Warriors closed out the final thirteen minutes on a 17-5 run, to ensure their second victory over SSU this year.
Marie Sweet was the lone Seawolf to crack double figures, posting 10 points, one assist and a steal. Lauren Redfield added eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
Cal State Stanislaus returns to action on Feb. 20 and 21, when they travel south to play Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A., respectively.
