TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team can use Friday night's season finale as a warm-up for the conference tournament. The Warriors will have to travel to Arcata to take on Humboldt State Tuesday night.

Chelsea Carlisle led the Tritons with 20 points — many of them came off of steals — as the No. 9 ranked UC San Diego defeated Cal State Stanislaus, 76-57, to close out the California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season.

With the loss, coupled with a San Francisco State win over Cal State San Bernardino, the Warriors will be the No. 7 seed for the CCAA Conference Championship Tournament, set to start on campus sites on Tuesday.

UC San Diego (26-3, 19-1 CCAA) is the regular season champion and will host the Cal State San Bernardino in La Jolla. The Warriors will be traveling to Humboldt State's Lumberjack Arena. Tip-off time will be at 7 p.m.

"We are excited about going to tournament," CSUS head coach Sharon Turner-Dean said. "It's hard to beat a team twice and it's really hard to beat a team three times. They have too many kids with that (postseason) experience, but we have to start somewhere to get our program turned around."

Senior Lysandra Williams led Cal State Stanislaus (13-14, 8-12 CCAA) with 23 points on 10 of 19 shooting from the field. She connected on 3 of 4 three-point attempts. Antwinette Turner, another senior, added nine points while sophomore Katie Busi chips in nine points and pulled six rebounds.

It was a close game in the first half as the Warriors managed to cut a 12-point deficit to five with a Williams layup at 3:51 before the break. However, UC San Diego built the lead back up for a 40-27 halftime advantage. With a 20-7 run to begin the second half, the Tritons put the game out of reach six minutes into the second half.

"Obviously they are an excellent team if they only lost one conference game," Turner-Dean said.  "We knew what we were up against, we just didn't do what we need to do consistently."

Alexis Gaskin had 15 points and Annette Ilg added 13 for UC San Diego.

San Francisco State, which was a 50-43 winner over Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, tied the Coyotes and Cal State Stanislaus for sixth place. The Gators won the tiebreaker based on their better head-to-head record among thre three tied teams.

San Francisco State was 3-1 against the tied teams, while Cal State Stanislaus was 2-2 and Cal State San Bernardino 1-3.
