SEASIDE — Victor Regalado became Cal State Stanislaus' leader with his 15th career goal but a late penalty kick score allowed Cal State Monterey Bay to get away with a 1-1 draw Sunday.

Regalado, who was a 2009 All-American and CCAA's most valuable offensive player of the year, scored at 24:53 to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

However, CSUMB's Beau Villaneuva converted on a penalty kick attempt at 76:01 to erase the Stanislaus lead as the two teams settled for the tie.

Cal State Stanislaus remains undefeated and is now 2-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. The Warriors were coming off a 3-1 win at San Francisco State Friday.

"Our guys battled on the road and played well but one critical mistake in goal allowed Monterey Bay to get off the hook," CSUS head coach Dana Taylor said.

Regalado's score was set up nicely by a diagnoal pass from Nolan Holdridge to Terry Gross, who crossed it to Regalado center of the goal for an one-timer finish.

It was Regalado's second goal of the year, his 15th in his career as he set a school single season record with 13 a year ago. He broke the Stanislaus record previously held by Dennis Wolf, who did it in four seasons (2003, 2005-07). Regalado is currently tied for points in a career with 33 (Tony Amaral, 2002-05).

The Warriors had the offensive advantage throughout the contest out-shooting CSU Monterey Bay 20-3 with an 11-3 shots on goal edge.

Cal State Monterey Bay is now 0-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in CCAA play. Sam Campanelli registered eight saves against the Warriors' attack.

The Warriors play host to Cal State San Bernardino Friday night at 7 p.m. as part of the University's 50th Anniversary Founder's Week celebration.
