Warriors fall to #22 CSU Monterey Bay

Box Score SEASIDE — Jameiz Terrell equaled her career-high with 16 points but the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team lost to No. 22 Cal State Monterey Bay, 66-46, Friday night at the Kelp Bed.

Terrell, who also scored 16 points on Dec. 10 against Notre Dame de Namur, was 5-for-16 from the field as the Warriors struggled offensively. Cal State Stanislaus fell to 5-10 overall and 2-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Cal State Monterey Bay, ranked 22nd in the latest USA Today/WBCA Top 25 poll, improved to 12-1 overall and 9-1 in the CCAA. The Otters were led by three players in double digits in scoring. Brandi Stephens had 13 points, Jessica Fontenette 12 and Sefanie Corgel 10.

As a team, the Warriors shot 26.7 percent in the first half before finishing with 32.7 percent from the field.

Erin Godde chipped in 11 points for the Warriors with a decent shooting night making 5 of 9 attempts. Her sister Lauren Godde grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds and scored eight points.

Cal State Monterey Bay led 41-21 at halftime and led by as many as 29 points in the second half. The Warriors and the Otters were even on the scoreboard, 25-25, in the second half.

The Warriors played without scoring leader Theresa Henderson Friday night. Henderson was academically ineligible for the game.
