Box Score SAN FRANCISCO — Despite a better all-around night than Friday's match at Sonoma State, the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team dropped a three-set match at San Francisco State.
Andrea Fett had 11 kills and seven digs to lead the Warriors, but they lost their second straight on the road to fall to 7-16 overall and 4-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
San Francisco State improved to 16-6 overall and 11-4 in the CCAA. The Gators are tied for third in the conference after Saturday's 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 win at The Swamp.
Jennifer Marsh and
Melissa Bishop each had seven kills, Bishop also had four total blocks and
Ashley Pittman led the way with 18 digs.
In the tight, see-saw battle of set three,
Janay Bankston tied the game at 20-20 with a kill. Stanislaus then picked up two straight points, including a service ace by
Eva Chafeh to take a 22-20 lead. However, after a SFSU side-out, the Gators rolled off four straight points include two kills by Jaclyn Clark to end the match.
Megan Johnson led SF State with 12 kills, Megan Wright had 11 and Kelly Ostello chipped in 10 to lead the Gators.
Cal State Stanislaus will be home for four of its next five matches beginning next weekend against UC San Diego and Cal State San Bernardino.
