Second Straight Trip: The Warrior men are appearing in the CCAA Championships for the second straight season. It is the program's third time (2006, 2011) in the postseason event.

Warrior Soccer Representing: Cal State Stanislaus is the only CCAA institution to have both of its mens' and women's soccer teams qualify for this year's conference tournament. Cal State Stanislaus is also the first school to send both of its soccer teams to consecutive tournaments since Cal State Dominguez Hills did it in 2008-09.

Series Notes vs. Cal State L.A.: Cal State L.A. has won the last three meetings in this series including ending the Warriors' season in 2011 in the opening round game of the CCAA tournament, 2-1. After a 3-0 win in Turlock earlier this season (Sept. 9), the Golden Eagles lead the series 17-3-1.

Third Time A Charm? The Warriors would like nothing more than a different recent this time in the CCAA Tournament. In the team's two previous tries at the conference tournament, the Warriors faced, and lost to, Cal State L.A. both times...and by the same score. In 2006 in La Jolla, the Warriors lost to the Golden Eagles, 2-1. Then, a year ago in Turlock, L.A. also won 2-1.

Got Something Against the Warriors? For whatever reason, Cal State Stanislaus is the most penalized team in the CCAA. The Warriors lead the conference with 46 yellow cards (43 came during conference games). Cal State L.A. is the least carded with 12 (10 in CCAA play).

Regional Picture: The Warriors remain at No. 8 in the West Region this week. There are a lot at stake in the CCAA Championship tournament with all four teams ranked in the top eight (No. 5 through No. 8). Only the top six teams qualifying for the CCAA tournament. The tournament winner does not automatically qualify as there is no such thing in Division II men's soccer at this point. Chico State is No. 5, Cal State L.A. No. 6 and Cal State Dominguez Hills No. 7.

About Cal State L.A. (11-3-3, 10-2-3 CCAA): The Golden Eagles went undefeated in the month of October with a 5-0-2 record. Their last lost was on Sept. 30 versus Cal State Dominguez Hills. Cal State L.A. features two of the best forwards in the CCAA in Rosario Bras and Antti Arvola (they both have eight goals, one behind leader Taylor Varnadore of SSU). With seven assists, Arvola leads the conference with 23 points.
