TURLOCK, Calif.---
David Lozano scored his first career goal off a corner kick from
Adrian Yepez in the 14th minute as Stan State battled Simon Fraser to a 1-1 draw Saturday morning at Warrior Stadium. Simon Fraser equalized on an own goal following a corner kick in the 72nd minute.
Stan State moves to 1-2-1 on the season, while Simon Fraser is 1-1-1.
FIRST HALF
Simon Fraser generated the first shot on goal in the seventh minute, but Stan State goalkeeper
Dylan Isasi stopped an attempt from Kundalini Bien-Aimé Dominique.
The Warriors began creating opportunities shortly afterward.
Alexis Cervantes had an attempt blocked in the ninth minute before Yepez had a shot blocked in the 10th. Yepez then put an attempt on frame in the 11th minute that was stopped by Simon Fraser goalkeeper Harrison Gough.
Stan State broke through at the 13:59 mark on its third corner kick of the match. Yepez delivered the corner to Lozano, who scored his first career goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
Simon Fraser looked for the equalizer later in the half, but Isasi stopped Pablo Perera's attempt in the 23rd minute. The teams finished the opening 45 minutes even at five shots apiece, while Stan State held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Isasi made two first-half saves as the Warriors took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
Stan State created the first shot of the second half when Cervantes sent an attempt wide right in the 59th minute.
The Warriors maintained their one-goal advantage until the 71:16 mark. Simon Fraser earned a corner kick and pulled even on an own goal off the ensuing service to make it 1-1. Simon Fraser generated two more attempts following the equalizer. Shahbod Jafary sent a shot high in the 74th minute before Koji Poon put an attempt wide right in the 80th.
Neither side generated another shot over the final 10 minutes as the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
Simon Fraser held a 7-6 advantage in shots, while each team finished with two shots on goal and five corner kicks. Isasi recorded two saves for the Warriors.

- Adrian Yepez recorded his second assist of the season and the 10th of his Warrior career, moving him into a tie for sixth on Stan State's career assists list with Hugo Brambila and Daniel Kuczynski. Yepez now has six goals and 10 assists for 22 career points.
