Box Score TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team came out on fire against the best team in the CCAA, but the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes turned away the Warriors in straight sets, 25-23, 25-16, 25-12.

With another 3-0 setback, the Warriors saw their records fell to 7-18 overall and 4-13 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Cal State San Bernardino, which entered the night with an one-game lead on UC San Diego in the CCAA standings, upped its marks to 18-7, 15-2.

For the second night this weekend Jennifer Marsh led the Warriors with 12 kills. Marsh was the only Warrior to hit with effectiveness, putting away 12 kills on 46 attempts (four errors) for a .308 average. Opponents again took away the attacking of team-leader Andrea Fett, who ended up with a season-low three kills for the second consecutive match.

Ashley Pittman had 14 of the team's 47 digs. Jaclyn Pinasco had nine and Kendal Munoz eight. Munoz also had two aces with 16 assists.

The Warriors could do little wrong to start the match and rolled out to an eye-opening 12-5 lead after a pair of Marsh spikes. In fact Marsh had three of her four first-set kills during that run and picked up her fourth moments later at 13-6.

Stanislaus would lead by seven points two more times in the set -- Jordan Harris's kill at 14-7 and a CSUSB attack error at 19-12. But five straight Coyot points put the visitors right back in the game. The Coyotes would eventually pull ahead at 23-22 before winning 25-23.

The rest of the night belonged to San Bernardino behind nice hitting averages of .306 and .357 in sets number two and three. Alexandra Torline led the way with 11 kills and Brenna McIntosh added eight. Setter Camille Smith had 30 assists and 16 digs plus two service aces.

Cal State Stanislaus will wrap-up its home schedule next weekend when the Warriors host Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay at Fitzpatrick Arena.
