Box Score LOS ANGELES — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team ran into a Cal State L.A. team determined to make a move up to the top three of the conference standings Saturday night.
Perhaps inspired by their senior night festivities, the Golden Eagles jumped out early and never looked back as the host sent the Warriors home with a 70-46 decision. Cal State L.A., which improved to 15-9 overall and 13-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and moved into a tie for third with Humboldt State.
For the Stanislaus Warriors, however, they couldn't repeat Friday night's performance as they fell to 6-18 overall and 3-17 in CCAA play.
Erin Godde led the Warriors with 12 points, going 4-for-4 from the floor with two three-pointers. She also had five rebounds. Against her former team,
Jameiz Terrell, scored 11 points, six of them came on the foul line, with six boards.
Lauren Godde had nine rebounds to finish the weekend with 28 to go with her eight points.
L.A. led by as many as 17 points in the first half before holding a 33-18 lead at the break. The Golden Eagles' largest lead with 26 points in the final seconds of the game after a Lacey Gibbons three-pointer. Gibbons made all six of her shot attempts with three treys to finish with 15 points.
Cal State L.A. was led by Samantha Hansen's 16 points. As a team the Golden Eagles shot 47.5 percent while holding the Warriors to 24.6 percent shooting.
The Warriors have two games remaining on their schedule with homecoming game at Fitzpatrick Arena on Thursday and senior night and We Back Pat night next Friday.
