2/3/2012 7:34:00 PM

Box Score TURLOCK — San Francisco State used a late second-half rally as the visiting Gators edged Cal State Stanislaus, 67-74, Friday night at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Four Warriors were in double-digits in scoring with Lauren Godde turning in another double-double, but Stanislaus fell to 5-14 overall and 2-13 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

For the first time since the 2007-08 season the home team didn't win in the Cal State Stanislaus-San Francisco State series as the Gators took both games this year. SF State improved to 7-14 overall and 6-9 in the CCAA and has won three of its last four games.

Nicole Hicks led all players with 24 points on 9 of 18 shooting with six free throws. Farrah Shokoor scored 10 points and 11 rebounds.

For Stanislaus, Rosa Tirado led with a new career-high 17 points. She also had six assists and two steals. Godde picked up her third straight double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Briana Cotton made four three-pointers for a career-high 14 points and Jameiz Terrell also chipped in 13 for Stanislaus.

Stanislaus led for the entire first half and took a nine-point, 47-38, lead with 13:14 left to play. SF State would slowly and steadily come back and eventually tied the game for the first time at 53-53 with 6:32 to go.

After the fifth tie of the game at 61-61 with 1:50 remaining, the Gators went on a 6-0 run on a Shokoor layup and four Hicks free throws for a 67-61 lead with 14 seconds left to play.

Cotton nailed her fourth three-pointer of the game to cut into the lead. The Warriors also had a chance to tie with an inbounds play with two ticks left, but a final desperation attempt from half court was short.

The Warriors will next face Cal Poly Pomona Saturday night with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
