Cal Poly Pomona defeats Warrior women

Box Score TURLOCK — Unable to get much going early, the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team dropped a 92-51 decision to Cal Poly Pomona Saturday night.

Ariel Marsh scored 22 points off the bench to lead Cal Poly Pomona as the Broncos keep pace with the CCAA leaders pack. Cal Poly Pomona improved to 15-5 overall and 11-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Warriors missed their first 13 shots of the game as they dropped their fifth straight. Cal State Stanislaus is now 5-15 overall and 2-14 in conference play.

Rosa Tirado scored 13 points to lead the Warriors but Stanislaus shot just 28.1 for the game as a team. Briana Cotton had 11 points and Erin Godde netted 10 points and nine rebounds. Lauren Godden also had nine rebounds to go with her seven points.

Cal Poly Pomona led 23-0 before the Warriors scored their first points, at 8:42 on a Cotton basket. The Bronco's biggest lead in the game was 47 points with 9:26 left to go.

Cal State Stanislaus will be on the road for its next four games until playing at home during the final weekend of the regular season, Feb. 23-24.
