SAN DIEGO — Down 2-1, the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team came roaring back as the Warriors beat host Point Loma Nazarene in five exciting sets on Friday.

The win even up the team's opening day record to 1-1 at the Seaside Invitational in San Diego. Earlier on the day, Northwest Nazarene defeated Cal State Stanislaus in four sets, 25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 25-19.

Jennifer Marsh led the Warriors with 17 kills and freshman setter Kendal Muñoz had a solid all-around performance with 41 assists, 16 digs, two blocks and six service aces. Muñoz capped the Stanislaus rally in the fifth with two straight aces as the Warriors scored six unanswered points for the 25-11, 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-11 win.

Jaclyn Pinasco had 22 digs and Andrea Fett put-away 15 kills to pace Stanislaus.

After dropping two close sets in the second and third, the Warriors rallied back. In the fourth where nobody led by more than four points, Stanislaus closed out the set with three straight points -- including two kills by Marsh for the win.

In the fifth, after Point Loma took a 11-9 lead, Stanislaus took advantage of a PLNU service error to turn the momentum around. The Warriors scored six straight points which included four Munoz service aces for the dramatic win.
