TURLOCK — Cal Poly Pomona's defense didn't really allow the Warriors to get into much rhythm as the visiting Broncos defeated Cal State Stanislaus in straight sets Saturday night at Fitzpatrick Arena.
Pomona, now 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA, recorded 51 digs in the three set -- 25-17, 25-15, 25-18 -- decision over Cal State Stanislaus (4-6, 1-1 CCAA).
In the second set alone, the Broncos dug-up 20 balls while hitting at a .433 clip offensively. Pomona was coming off a 3-2 loss at Chico when the Broncos collected 28 block assists Friday.
Leading the Warriors again was
Andrea Fett with 13 more kills on a decent night with a .257 attacking percentage. She swung 35 times with just four errors. She also had six digs and a block to go with her statistical totals.
Melissa Bishop added six kills and stuffed a solo block and two assisted blocks. In all the Warriors tallied nine combined blocks to CPP's eight.
Ashley Pittman led the Warriors with 10 digs.
Diana Lake had 13 kills and 12 digs for the Broncos and Kelly Bonja had 15 digs. Zoe Herrera also had 10 digs.
Cal State Stanislaus is back in action next weekend, at home, when the Warriors host San Francisco State and Sonoma State Friday and Saturday.
