Box Score LA JOLLA — UC San Diego handed the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team its fifth straight loss Saturday night as the Warriors wrap-up the tough roadtrip.
However, the stretch matches against highly regarded teams in the nation continues on Wednesday when the Warriors face No. 18 Chico State. The good news is that the match, originally scheduled to be in Chico, is now a home match at Fitzpatrick Arena.
On Saturday night, however, the Tritons used a strong offensive attack to put away the Warriors, 25-22, 25-10, 25-21. Cal State Stanislaus is now 4-10 overall and 1-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).
Andrea Fett led the Warriors with 12 kills,
Ashley Pittman had 18 digs and
Kendal Munoz had 30 assists.
Melissa Bishop had seven kills and
Eva Chafeh chipped in six but as a team Stanislaus hit .111 as opposed to UCSD's .274.
Danielle Dahle had 14 kills and two Tritons -- Sophie Rowe and Katy Woodward -- had 21 digs each to lead UC San Diego (10-4), which now shares the lead in the standings with Cal State San Bernardino at 5-1 in conference play.
Wednesday night's 7 p.m. match against Chico State was originally scheduled to be in Chico. However, a damaged floor in Chico's Acker Gym forced the site switch to Turlock's Fitzpatrick Arena. Stanislaus will play at Chico on Nov. 7.
