TURLOCK — Two second half goals within a minute helped the Warriors complete the comeback as Cal State Stanislaus opened the conference season with a 2-1 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The win, Stanislaus' first against the Toros in Turlock and its second straight overall, means the Warriors are now 3-0 on the young season.

Kyle Cadigan and Daniel Kuczynski scored the goals for the Warriors in the 78th minute to complete the come-from-behind win.

Cal State Dominguez Hills (0-2-1) made a quick strike to start the second half with a give-and-go play finished by Andrew Johnson on a pass by Miguel Vazquez at 45:57.

"To be honest with you we made a crucial mistake at the beginning of the second half; There was confusing and we were only playing with 10 men when that goal was scored," head coach Dana Taylor said.

The Warrior defense held together from that point on in a physical contest — 43 fouls, seven cautions and an ejection were issued in the contest.

After being denied of attacks for much of the second half early the Stanislaus offense finally sent in the equalizer on another set-play.

On a throw-in by Nolan Holdridge on the near side, Kyle Cadigan deflected the toss just enough through a group of players for the score at 77:01.

"The guys came back, they believed," Taylor added. "You can see a spark when that first ball went in. The whole game changed, the whole level changed, the enthusiasm, the energy; Everything just started flowing."

Less than 50 seconds later on the ensuing Stanislaus possession, a Dinesh Prasad pass into the box bounced off the CSUDH goalkeeper with Kuczynski finishing the play for the 2-1 lead.

"After the first goal happened everybody came together as a team and lifted the level (of play)," Cadigan said. "We definitely don't go down on our own field that's for sure."

With another home win the Warriors are now 25-5-2 at Warrior Stadium since it opened in 2009. The Warriors will try for another victory on Sunday when they host Cal State L.A. L.A. (1-2-0) lost at Chico State, 3-0, on Friday.
