Fresh off their first win of the season, the Warrior women are looking to extend the streak in the New Year as they host San Francisco State and Sonoma State this weekend.

San Francisco State GATORS (4-3, 2-2 CCAA)
Series Notes: The Warriors are 37-28 alltime against San Francisco State (15-13 in CCAA play). They were swept by the Gators in 2011-12 for the first time in five seasons.
Last Time We Met... was on Feb. 3, 2012, in Turlock. SF State won a tight game, 67-64, despite four players in double figures for Stanislaus.
Rosa Tirado had 17 points and
Lauren Godde had 13 points, 14 rebounds to lead the Warriors.
About the Gators: SF State has not played since Dec. 11 when it beat Dominican, 60-38, for its second straight game allowing just 38 points … The Gators have allowed 54.7 points per game, third best in the CCAA … Farrah Shokoor leads team with 13.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

Sonoma State SEAWOLVES (4-4, 2-2 CCAA)
Series Notes: Cal State Stanislaus holds a 38-28 lead in the series but are 10-18 in CCAA games. Seven of those wins happened at home. The Warriors lost the last two meetings after three straight wins.

Jameiz Terrell had 16 points and
Lauren Godde scored 12 with 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors but Stanislaus lost 56-51.
About the Seawolves: Sonoma State won its last two games including a 76-49 win over Dominican on Dec. 19 … The Seawolves are among the league worst in rebounding (33.4 per game overall) … Taylor Vigil leads SSU with 10.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.

Victory!
The Warriors ended the eight-game skid with their first win last Saturday when they beat Holy Names, 68-61. Four players were in double-digits in scoring with
Briana Cotton leading the way with 19 points and
Devin Brown scored 16.
Lauren Godde had 12 with
Molly Farrar chipping in with her career-high 10 points.
A Big Lead For a Change
Cal State Stanislaus was able to enjoy a huge lead for a change this season. During the game against Holy Names, the Warriors led by as many as 20 points in the first half (at 3:51, 39-19). They maintained a double-digure lead for most of the first half and the first part of the second half.
A Warm December for Cotton
In four December games, sophomore guard
Briana Cotton warmed up on her shooting touch and has became a go-to shooter. In those four games, Cotton lead the team with a 15.8 points per game average. She had four straight double-digit games including knocking down 19 points twice. During the stretch, Cotton is 24 for 55 from the field for 43.6 percent and made a team-best 81.8 percent of her free throws (9 for 11).
Twin Towers
The Godde twins are working together to takecharge in the paint this season.
Lauren Godde continues to lead the team (and is fourth in the CCAA) in scoring at 17.3 per game. She also averages 7.9 rebounds per contest (fourth best in the CCAA). Sister
Erin Godde now averages 7.0 rebounds per game and has grabbed eight or more rebounds in each of the last four outings. Together, the twins are in the top 10 among all CCAA players in both rebounding per game and blocked shots per game (each with a 0.7 average).
What Can Brown Do For You
Senior
Devin Brown is also enjoy some success lately as she's coming off back-to-back 16-point games. In the last two games, Brown was 13 for 25 from the field for 32 points. She was also 8 for 11 from the free throw line. Brown has played some solid defense as well with eight steals in the last two games, including a career-best six against Holy Names.
Nailing the Free Throws
The Warriors have shown drastic improvement on the free throw line, as it was evident in Saturday's win over Holy Names. Collectively they made nearly 68 percent of their free attempts (19 for 28). The team made six of its last eight free throws in the final two minutes of play to seal the win.
Molly Farrar made three of those free throws (out of her six on the night) down the stretch.
The Streak Ended
The Warriors ended the skid at eight games to avoid being the first team to lose more than eight games in a row. They have never lost more than eight straight games during the CCAA era. Cal State Stanislaus has lost eight in-a-row four times since 2003-04.
