Box Score TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team couldn't recover from a 17-point halftime deficit as UC San Diego defeated the Warriors, 69-50, Friday night inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Warriors (2-20, 1-16 CCAA) put up a good fight in the second half before coming up short in falling to the second-place Tritons as they extended their winning streak to eight games.
Despite shooting just 21.2 percent in the second half (21.9 for the game), the Warriors were only out-scored by two points, 30-28.
However, the 39-22 halftime score wast too much to overcome. UC San Diego (16-8, 14-3) used a 9-0 run to end the first half for the big lead. That run was just moments after the Warriors managed to fight back into the contest and led by four at 6:57 before the break.
But a 14-0 run put on by the Tritons turned the game around.
Lauren Godde scored 18 points with eight rebounds after taking a-third of the team's shot attempts.
Devin Brown chipped in with 10 points.
CCAA scoring leader Daisy Feder had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Tritons.
