Box Score TURLOCK — Too bad the Coyotes were able to convert on 23 free points. The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team played tough and were just about even with CSUSB but lost, 61-52, Saturday night.
The glaring difference in the game was the foul count, which turned into free throws, as the Coyotes were sent to the line 29 times as a result of 22 fouls called on the Warriors. CSUSB were charged with nine fouls and Stanislaus made 4 of 5 from the line.
In the end, Cal State Stanislaus fell to 2-21 overall and 1-17 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association while Cal State San Bernardino moved to 10-12, 8-10 in the CCAA.
Erin Godde picked up a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds to help
Devin Brown's team-high 16-point effort.
Eliza Matley also scored 10 points.
Lauren Godde, who missed the first half, was held to two points in 18 minutes of play in the second half.
The Warriors got within six points of the Coyotes as late as 1:09 left to go after a Brown layup, but CSUSB made six of its eight free throws down the stretch for a 12-point lead.
Eliza Dy led CSUSB with 20 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Jaslyn Cosey scored 15 with 11 from the line and seven of Adriana Brodie's 11 points came from the charity stripe.
