TURLOCK — An offensive explosion in the first half by the Stanislaus men's side resulted in a Warrior victory as they beat Cal State Monterey Bay, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Warrior Stadium.
Needing a lift and scoring, the Warriors came out firing with all three goals scored in the first half to improve to 3-4-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The win, suprisingly, was the Warriors' first at Warrior Stadium this season in four tries. Entering the year, Cal State Stanislaus was 28-6-3 at home since the stadium opened in 2009.
Cal State Stanislaus, which had scored just six goals in the season's first seven matches, has now scored six goals in two consecutive Sunday games.

Cal State Monterey Bay (4-3-1, 2-3-1 CCAA) used just 27 seconds after the restart for the equalizer. Sevando Perez scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season after collecting a loose ball.
The Warriors were relentless on their attack, scoring in the 24th minute and the 39th minute to build a 3-1 halftime lead.
Carlos Gavino used some fancy footwork to juke his defender on the near-side and blasted a shot for the second Stanislaus goal at 23:52. Gerardo Cazares then picked up a loose ball as it bounced off a defender at 38:09 for the third goal.
CSUMB goalkeeper Evan Drake earned six saves against the Warriors' nine shots of goal while Clint Long picked up three saves.
