Box Score TURLOCK — Unable to fully recover from a poor shooting night, the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team was not able to make its comeback complete before falling to Cal State L.A., 68-57, Friday night.

The Warriors, led by Lauren Godde with 17 points and Riley Holladay with 15 points and seven rebounds, found themselves down too far before falling to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Stanislaus snapped a three-game winning streak and will look to rebound Saturday against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Cal State Stanislaus had entered the week as the CCAA's highest scoring team averaging 76.4 points per game. Friday night, however, the Warriors weren't able to hit a basket in the first portion of the game. The Warriors started the game 1-for their first 15 attempts in the first 10 minutes. By then, Cal State L.A. led 11-3.

The Warriors ended up shooting 25.8 pecent in the first half (8-for-31). The final tally was 32.8 percent or 21 for 64 for the game.

Cal State L.A. led by as many as 12 points in the first half by converting on 48 percent of its shots despite committing 16 first-half turnovers. The Golden Eagles were able to pull ahead largely due to rebounding as L.A. out-rebounded the Warriors, 26-13 in the first half. Destinee La Fountain had 11 of her 17 total rebounds in the first half.

Still, Stanislaus rallied back. Down 18 points with 6:21 left to play, the Warriors came all the way back and made it a 7-point game on a three-pointer by Riley Holladay with 2:34 left on the clock that capped a 15-4 run.

Cal State L.A., however, would hold off the Warriors down the stretch. La Fountain finished with 10 points to go with her 17 boards. She also had three blocked shots and a steal. Paige Melville led L.A. (8-3, 5-2 CCAA) with 16 points and Aiwekho Okungbowa scored 15.

Ana Burch chipped in nine points with six rebounds and Jasmine Washington had seven points to pace Stanislaus. The Warriors were charged with 27 fouls and three players fouled out of the game.
