About the Golden Eagles: Cal State L.A. is in the middle of a six-game homestand. The Golden Eagles hosted a tournament last weekend and went 1-1 with a win over Point Loma (50-36) and lost to California Baptist (70-65) … Kaija Powell leads the team with 15.5 points per game which is fifth best among all CCAA players.

About the Toros: Cal State Dominguez Hills also played in the L.A. tournament and went 1-1 with a loss to California Baptist (81-72) and won over Point Loma (60-56) … It was their second win over Point Loma this season … Breanna Garcia is the Toros' top scorer with 13 points per game … Tayler Champion has nailed 13 three-pointers.
Conference OpenersLast year, the Warriors opened the CCAA season with a shocker in a 71-68 win over No. 6 ranked Chico State at home. The Warriors also went 1-1 during their first CCAA road trip at Sonoma State (W, 76-61) and San Francisco State (L, 81-96).
High-Flying OffenseCal State Stanislaus, which averaged 69.7 points per game in 26 contests last season, is scoring a lot to start the new season. The Warriors are coming off back-to-back 80-plus point games and is averaging 78.3 points per game after three games — which is currently second best among all CCAA teams (Humboldt State, 84.0).
Warriors Drop 87 on Art UDespite the loss to Academy of Art on Nov. 22, the Warriors' 87 points total is the most points scored since the 2012-13 opener at Dominican (93-91), a stretch of 53 games.

Washington the Scoring GeneralJasmine Washington adds three more double-digit scoring games to her credit as she's scored 11, 17, and 15 points in the first three games, respectively. Her 14.3 points per game ranks 10th in the CCAA. Washington now has 17 double-digit scoring games in her career.

Winning In OTThe Warriors winning in overtime is becoming normal after last Tuesday's win over Notre Dame de Namur. Stanislaus is now 9-1 in the last 10 games in overtime, dating back to the 2006-07 season. During the CCAA era, since 1998, the Warriors are 12-4 in overtime games.
Forcing TurnoversCal State Stanislaus has stepped-up the defense with its full-court presses as the Warriors have forced 81 turnovers in three games (27 per game). The Warriors forced 30 Notre Dame de Namur mistakes in last Tuesday's 81-76 overtime win and made Academy of Art turn the ball over 28 times on Nov. 22. Stanislaus, which has been credited with 47 steals, has committed just 41 turnovers (13.7 per game average).
Nice Rebound SeasonLast year's 13-win season matches the team's best win-total in the 11 years. The Warriors had 13 wins in 2010-11 (13-14) and 2008-09 (13-15). The 13-13, .500 record is also the program's best since the 18-10 season of 2002-03. There were only two other winning seasons during the CCAA era in 1999-2000 (19-10) and 2000-01 (18-9).

CCAA Basketball ChampionshipsThe 2014-15 CCAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship tournament will be held at the beginning of March. Six teams qualify for the event to be held at the Stockton Arena in Stockton. The winner of the tournament would receive the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament.
Getting Back to the TournamentThe last time a Warriors women's basketball team qualified for the conference tournament was in 2010-11 when the Warriors lost at Cal Poly Pomona, 76-55, in the first round. Stanislaus also played in the 2009 CCAA tournament (lost at Humboldt State, 82-61).
Vying For the PostseasonIt has been 11 seasons since the last time the Warriors made the NCAA postseason. Stanislaus went 18-10 in the 2002-03 season and played in the opening round of the NCAA tournament in Seattle (116-106, OT, lost to Cal State Bakersfield).
CCAA Preseason Coaches PollThe defending CCAA champions Cal Poly Pomona was unanimously picked to repeat as the Broncos received 11 of the 12 first place votes by the head coaches. The Warriors received 41 points and was projected to finished ninth ahead of Cal State onterey Bay, San Francisco State and Sonoma State.
