Warrior women fell to Cal State Dominguez Hills

Box Score CARSON — A late first half run by Cal State Dominguez Hills eventually caused the Warriors as they fell to the Toros, 69-59, Friday night at the Torodome.

The Toros went on an 11-2 run to close out the first half for a 33-21 lead en route to the CCAA win. Cal State Stanislaus ended a two-game winning streak to fall to 12-9 overall and 9-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors are again battling for one of the final playoff berths as they are now tied with three other teams in fifth place in the CCAA standings.

Cassidy Sanders-Curry led the Warriors with 12 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for her first career double-double. Briana Cotton and Lauren Godde each scored 10 points.

The Warriors took 40 shots in the second half but made just 14 and ended the night 35.5 percent from the floor. They made just 1 of 9 three-point attempts. The only made was by Cotton with 32 seconds left in the game.

Four players scored in double digits for Cal State Dominguez Hills as the Toros moved into a tie for second place at 12-5 in CCAA play. CSUDH is 16-5 overall. Tayler Champion led the Toros with 19 points.

The Warriors are at Cal State L.A. Saturday night. The Golden Eagles are also in second place at 16-6 overall and 13-5 CCAA.
