Box Score LOS ANGELES — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team out-scored Cal State L.A. by 20 points as the Warriors beat the Golden Eagles 73-66 Saturday night at the Eagles' Nest.

Briana Cotton scored 19 points and Lauren Godde recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Cal State Stanislaus improved to 12-10 overall and 10-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Warriors snapped Cal State L.A.'s five-game winning streak and remain in a three-way tie for fifth place in the standings with four regular season games to go.

A 19-2 Stanislaus run in the latter part of the second half and the defense holding Cal State L.A. to six points in the final six and a half minutes of the game were the major differences. The spurt allowed the Warriors to turn a 60-54 deficit into a 71-62 lead during a 5-minute-plus span.

Cotton started the run with a layup at 6:03 and back to back three-pointers by Ana Burch and Cotton helped the Warriors take over the game at 61-60 with 4:12 to play. The Warriors also got two more jumpers by Burch and five points from Riley Holladay during that run.

Aiwekhoe Okungbowa's two free throws acccounted for Cal State L.A.'s only points during that time while the Golden Eagles were held to just two field goals — and six total points — after Okungbowa's layup at 6:41 that had given LA an 8-point lead. Okungbowa finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Stanislaus trailed by 13 points, 42-29, at halftime.

Burch finished with 17 points and Holladay ended up with 10 points to put four Warriors in double figures. Jasmine Washington was just two points away from also joining the group with eight points.

Cal State L.A., 15-7, 12-6 CCAA, is tied for second place in the CCAA standings three games behind leader Cal Poly Pomona, which lost at San Francisco State on Saturday. The Warriors are in a three-way tie at 10-8 with UC San Diego and San Francisco State. Stanislaus holds the tiebreaker over UC San Diego having beaten the Tritons twice.
