LA JOLLA — Three Warriors accounted for 40 points, but UC San Diego pulled away in the second half for a 81-68 decision Friday night at RIMAC Arena.
Camille Roberts scored 18 points while
Jasmine Washington and
Cassidy Sanders-Curry each had 11 to lead Cal State Stanislaus, but the Warriors fell to 1-4 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play. Stanislaus is 3-6 overall.
Farrah Shokoor lead UC San Diego, 5-5, 3-2 CCAA, with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Miranda Seto scored 15.
The Stanislaus starter scored 56 of the 68 points with
Alysa Valentine scored nine and
Riley Holladay chipped in seven. The Tritions bench, led by Jamie Katuna's 18, scored 31 points.
The Warriors got as close as six points on a Valentine three-pointer in the second half, but UC San Diego answered with a 9-0 run to make it 58-48. The Tritons would extend the lead to 18, 71-53, at 6:53 on a Cassie MacLeod trey.
Roberts was 4-for-10 from the three-point arch and ended up 7 of 16 from the field for one of her best games this season. She also had two assists and blocked three shots. Roberts had 21 points back on Nov. 22 against Academy of Art.
Sanders-Curry, who had 30 points against Chico in the team's previous game on Dec. 20, finished with 11 points.
The Warriors' road-trip continues on Saturday when they visit Cal Poly Pomona.
