Camille Roberts made five more three-pointers Saturday night, but the Warriors couldn't contain one of the better teams in the country as Cal Poly Pomona used a strong second half to runaway with an 86-59 game.
Cal Poly Pomona, the defending West Region champion, got 26 points from Ariel Marsh and 13 points from CCAA scoring leader Jada Blackwell to improve to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Warriors has now lost seven consecutive games to Cal Poly Pomona and 12 straight at Kellogg Gym.
Roberts, who scored 18 points with four three-pointers Friday at UC San Diego, had 15 points Saturday night as she made five treys on 14 attempts. The five 3-pointers made matches her career high when she went 5-for-8 on Nov. 22 against Academy of Art. Roberts is among the CCAA leaders in three-pointers made and percentage. The redshirt junior has made 26 three-pointers this season.
Jasmine Washington chipped in 10 points with six rebounds and
Cassidy Sanders-Curry added seven points to the Warriors' total.
Roberts cut the Pomona lead down to five with a three-pointer with 4:42 left in the first half, but the Broncos went on a 7-0 run for a 12-point advantage.
Riley Holladay made a layup and Roberts nailed another three-pointer to close out the half for a 32-25 intermission score.
The Warriors got as close as four points with three straight free throws to begin the second half, but Pomona took off from there.
A 9-0 run made it 41-28 three minutes into the second half and Pomona extended its lead into the 20s at 12:02 after a 10-1 run that answered a Washington three-pointer.
Pomona, which out-scored Stanislaus 54-34 in the second half, shot 62.5 percent from the field while the Warriors managed 36 percent (9 for 25).
