Watch Jordan Moineau's goal by clicking in the window abovePOMONA — With another tremendous performance defensively by the Stanislaus State women's soccer team, the Warriors blanked another opponent as they will play for another CCAA tournament championship on Sunday.
Jordan Moineau's goal in the 15th minute was the scoring difference and the 1-0 score held-up for 75-plus more minutes as Stan State beat Chico State in a semifinal match at Kellogg Field at Cal Poly Pomona.

That was a tremendous effort in all phases of the game by our team. We felt confident coming into the match that we could beat Chico. The team executed the game plan perfectly," head coach Gabriel Bolton said.The Warriors (12-5-3) advance to the title match and will play for their third CCAA championship since 2011. Stanislaus, the sixth seed, will face either No. 4 seed UC San Diego on Sunday for the tournament title. The championship match is at 12:30 p.m. with the winner also earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. UC San Diego defeated top-seed Sonoma State, 3-0, in the other semifinal match on Friday.
Friday's shutout is the Warriors' third straight and the second 1-0 win during the CCAA tournament. Stanislaus beat Cal State L.A., 1-0, in Los Angeles in the first round match on Tuesday to get the opportunity to play at Pomona.

Chelsea Lewandowski has set a new Stanislaus career record now with 28.5 shutouts with 9 1/2 in 2015. The All-CCAA honorable mention pick was stout at the net on Friday and picked up a career-high 10 saves against a potent Chico State offense, which featured the offensive player of the year Pooja Patel and the newcomer of the year in Erin Woods.

Chico has some terrific attacking players and we did a great job of containing them." said Bolton.Chico State (12-5-2), which controlled the first 10-plus minutes of the match, and Stanislaus each had 16 shots with 10 Wildcat shots on goal.Moineau, who received an All-CCAA first-team award Thursday night at the tournament banquet, stole a pass deep in the zone from Woods, dribbles into the box and took a 15-yard shot to the left post to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead at 14:31. Moineau, a senior from Madera Ranchos, now leads the conference with her eighth goal of the year.

The finish was excellent!" praised Bolton.Stanislaus State, making its sixth CCAA tournament appearance, is looking to win its third CCAA tournament title since 2011. The Warriors posted title wins in 2011 (over Chico State) and 2013 (against Sonoma State) in Turlock.
The Warriors won the West Region championship last season after posting a double overtime win against Seattle Pacific and two shutouts over Western Washington and Cal Poly Pomona on the road.
