Riley Holladay tied a career high in scoring, but the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team couldn't keep up with the first place Humboldt State Lumberjacks Thursday night.
Humboldt State opened the game with a 19-4 lead in seven minutes en route to a commanding 85-62 decision at Lumberjack Arena. The 25th ranked Lumberjacks improved to 19-3 overall and 15-2 in CCAA to stay in first place ahead of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Holladay made all eight of her free throw attempts to finish with 18 points, tying a career high in her second season of play. She also set a new personal best with three blocked shots. Holladay also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three steals.
Camille Roberts scored 10 points and
Erika Larsen had nine points, five from the free throw line. The Warriors were 16 of 19 from the foul line for 84.2 percent and shot 35.7 percent on the floor as a team.
After taking a 24-point lead at halftime, HSU used a 17-10 run to reach the 30-point differential margin at 12:38.
Morgan Roots kept the Warriors somewhat close with a couple of three-pointers.
Roberts nailed one of her triples at 9:19 to get the Warriors back within 24 points, but another 10-0 Lumberjack charge gave them another huge cushion.
Stanislaus did score 21 of the game's 31 points in the final six minutes to close out the contest.
The Warriors are now 6-15 overall and 4-13 in conference play, before Saturday night's game at Cal State San Bernardino.
